Criminally Dumb Criminal of the Day: A man in a full-body Gumby costume was caught on CCTV cameras attempting to hold up a San Diego 7-Eleven.

According to police, the would-be robber told the clerk he was being robbed, fumbled for a weapon, dropped 27 cents, and left.

The clerk, who described the perp to police as “a green SpongeBob SquarePants,” thought the entire incident was a joke and didn’t bother reporting it. It was the store owner who elected to get the law involved after viewing the surveillance tape.

The police are offering a $1,000 reward for any information that helps send Gumby — *puts sunglasses on sunglasses* — to the pokey.
